The programme includes Luciano Berio’s rarely-performed 1968 masterpiece Sinfonia, considered to be the most revolutionary avant-garde symphony of the twentieth century.
The five-movement work includes a score for eight singers, whose lyrics refer to the death of Martin Luther King and the work of Samuel Beckett. The acclaimed Auckland vocal ensemble V8 will join the orchestra to perform the symphony.
